Wurstchen
Daddy and Lulu cooked some Nürnberger bratwurst (from Trader Joe's!) over a fire in our fire pit for dinner. The smoke wasn't quite the traditional ash flavor you can get in Nürnberg, but we all enjoyed them just the same!
And even better, someone learned a valuable lesson about fire safety.

First Soccer Class
Lulu had her first soccer class this weekend. She has participated in a soccer class through her preschool where the coaches come and bring their equipment and the kids play together on the playground. Auntie 'Lissa said that she was signing up her son (Baby J) for a soccer class through the local parks and rec department and I signed up Lulu for some more soccer, too! The class meets on Saturday mornings at a local park and seems a bit more like organized team sports. In the next week, we have to get Lulu some shin guards before her next class. And we successfully persuaded her that shorts were a better option than the frilly skirt she initially wanted to wear.
My daughter is awesome. Like the Mom Of the Year (tm) that I am, I totally spaced it that we were supposed to bring water (although, honestly? for a 45 minute class? seriously?). But during the water breaks, Lulu ran over to me and said, "Mama, let's pretend we have water!" So, I pretended to open a bottle and hand it to her and she pretended to drink it. Like I said, awesome. If life forgets to hand you lemons, make fake lemonade, right?
She had a great time running around and kicking the ball. It's a combined 4-5 year old class and she's as big as any other kid there. So, perhaps they have a "bruiser" position in soccer?
